Wind Farms and Rural Roads

National Council notes Plaid Cymru’s support for green methods of energy generation.
 
National Council believes that wind farms can be an extremely effective method of generating
green energy.
 
National Council recognises the concern of many residents in our rural areas as to the effect wind farm development can have on rural roads, which may be unable to cope with the large lorries needed to transport the turbines.
 
National Council believes that due consideration should be given to these concerns when selecting routes to transport turbines.
 
National Council calls on the Welsh Assembly Government to ensure that every effort should be made to ensure that rural roads are strengthened where necessary, so that the transportation of turbines and replacement parts cause as little disruption as possible to rural residents.
